SpeedAdmin Play! is built to be the nextgeneration platform for Music and Arts Schools - but a successful migration depends on when you move, not just that you move.
This guide is meant to help SuperUsers, school leaders and administrative teams who want a clear way to evaluate whether the timing is right for their school.
Let’s break it down into the four key dimensions that matter most.

First things first: migration is a joint effort.
At SpeedAdmin, we plan migrations carefully to ensure:
We intentionally limit how many schools we migrate at once - because we want every school to have a safe transition and predictable timelines.
How it typically works: we’ll ask you to complete a short readiness survey, thenalign the plan in a Planning Meeting with your Account Manager.

SpeedAdmin Play! already covers the coreworkflows for the vast majority of schools. But every school is different - and timing depends on whether Play! supports allthe workflows you need.
Before migrating, it’s worth asking:
To make this transparent, we usually
Many schools choose to time their migrationaround upcoming releases. That’s smart - especially if a particular featureis centralto your daily operations.

This is where timing becomes very concrete.

One of the most important timing questionsis registration.
Before migrating, decide
Common approaches:

There is no “right” answer – only what fits your reality.
SuperUsers

Teachers
Teachers don’t need to be deeply involved in the technical setup – but they will feel the change when they are introduced to
If possible, avoid peak teaching periods or exam-heavy months.

If you can answer most of these with confidence, you’re probably close:
There’s no universal answer. But successful migrations often happen when:
✔ financeperiods are closed
✔ key staff have breathing room
✔ core functionality is in place
✔ registration flows are clearly decided
✔ expectations are aligned on both sides
SpeedAdmin Play! is not just a new interface. It’s a new way of working that deserves careful planning.
